My impression was that it is always better to get ram with tighter stock timings. 2-2-2-4 for example would be wonderful to have. However, lately i've seen people reccomending going with 3-3-3-8 memory. Is this primarily for AMD64 systems with the integrated northbridge?(memory controller) I'm running a 64 3200+ currently, so am just curious.
I'm looking for a good 2x1GB combo for ram, and newegg seems to have some decent rebates. I've had good experience with Corsair in the past, and am leaning towards them currently. I've got 2x512 Corsair in my system, and will probably end up donating that to the Girlfriend's computer for some brownie points(and an excuse to upgrade my own). Does anyone have input if these look like good deals? Also, would it be worth getting some PC4000 if I plan to overclock?

Just looking for a little feedback before I plunk my hard earned coin down on the preverbial counter.
Thanks,
Korp.
