RAM question

right now i have 2 256mb pc3200 dual channel ram to equal up to 512. I want to get up to 1g, but should i just buy another dual channel kit, 512x2? Or just got another stick of 512? I dont know the performance difference between 256x2 and a 512, or just 512x2. Thanks 🙂

You should get a 1GB dual-channel kit. It'll give you the best performance out of the three.

Ditto. Or you could just buy 2x512MB sticks seperatley. Whatever is cheaper.

yeah so you'll spend an extra $55 to get the same 1gb ram but with more performance.... you have to figure out if its worth it

of course you'll have the extra 2x256mb left over if you spend the $55

I meant you could buy a dual pack (512x2) or just buy two 512 sticks. I was just trying to make the point that you don't need a dual pack. If you can buy 2x512MB seperately cheaper then get them.
