is it possible to use 800mhz pc6400 ddr2 on a 500mhz fsb overclock?

my mobo only allows dividers that increase the speed of the ram from 1:1. do all mobos do this?

No, you'll see different ratios listed as choices when you look at different motherboards. I am surprised you don't have more choices there.

From what I understand, Intel chipsets can't/don't have a divider to have the ram run slower then the fsb, 1:1 is the lowest possible.
Have to have a 590/650/680/7xx nForce user to comment on dividers availible to them.
P965 is intel though.
But it is possible to use DDR2-800 on a 500FSB, but you have to make sure your ram can run at 1000MHz (maybe it will at its current settings... maybe you'll have to losen timings/up voltage... or maybe your sticks cant pull it off no matter what).

think ill go with what sutahz is saying, i know it will let me run at 950mhz, so ill just try for 1000mhz at relaxed timings. i dont wanna have to buy 1066 ram

well yeah, i have about 10 choices, but none go "slower" than 1:1
