After reading the AT article on different RAM configurations I had a few questions. I'm getting an Abit IS7-E and Kingston HyperX PC3500 is only $50 after MIR at Best Buy. First off, will the Abit IS7-E have any problems running with 4 sticks of 256MB each (all 4 DIMM slots filled)? I ask because of this quote from the article...
Next, is Kingston HyperX PC3500 the double-sided RAM that has the performance advantage when all 4 DIMM slots are in use? If so, is it a good idea to go ahead and run 4x256MB Kingston HyperX PC3500? (I had only planned to run 2x256MB for now, but with RAM prices still rising maybe I should jump on this deal?) Or am I better off spending the extra money on 2x512MB if I decide to go for 1GB? Thanks in advance...
One of the questions we are often asked is whether a particular motherboard can run with four DIMMs - or at the maximum number of memory slots for the board. Surprisingly, the answer is often ?no?
