RAM question regarding Asus M2A-VM mobo

I just purchased an Asus M2A-VM mobo and need 2x1GB RAM. According to Newegg and the Asus the board accepts ddr2 800. I found a good deal after rebate on some Corsair ddr2 800 RAM, however their site says to use ddr2 667. Should I just go with the ddr2 800 and take my chances? Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

There's nothing technically stopping you from using DDR2 800 RAM, but what speed the RAM runs at is a function of the memory controller on your processor. You'll have to see if your BIOS will allow you to set the RAM at that speed.

Thanks for the replies and recommendations. I plan to use an x2 3800+ and it does indeed support ddr2 800 . . . looks like I should be okay with the Corsair. Cheap RAM rules!
