Ram question once again

so i was shopping around on newegg and i found some stuff... and it occured, if i dont plan on overclocking, is there a real difference between value and other ram? and what exactly are the different timings... coming from 2.5-3-3-8 on this 2x 512 ram, upgrading to lets say 3-3-3-8 ram of 2 gig, would i see a slowdown? input always appreciated

The RAM would be a tiny bit slower performing in the order of 1% or so. However when you compare that to the improved performance you get with having 2gb it's not a problem.

IMO, Going to 2 GB from 1GB will not show a whole lot of performance gain except maybe in games. Since the new 2Gb has higher latency there will be a performance hit compare to the lower latency of the exisiting 1GB. Now if this is going to be compensated by the increase of ram, I seriously doubt it.
