I have 2 64 MB PC100 now. If i buy 1 128 PC100, since it is so cheap, would it be as good as 2 x 128 or slower? Is this okay. I need everyone's opinion!! THankx!!

For DIMM's, there is no theoretical difference between 128 1MB sticks and 1 128MB stick. However, you could theoretically have problems with certain sticks of different brands working together. This shouldn't ever pose a problem, and it's easy to fix.

By the way, if you're running win98 that extra 128MB does no good. I'm not sure about WinME, though I think it should be the same story.

Why not? are you telling me that win98 cannot use more than 128MB, and that if you have got more ram it will not be used, even if the applications i'm running uses more than 128MB?

As far as I know...there shouldn't be any problems...unless the RAM are incompatible with each other... in case of EDO and SDRAM..
In terms of speed..i dont think there will be any noticable differences...you need to ask a ram expert.. :) i'm not..
