They work great if you have a good water source that is consistent and has the flow to power the pump. You can build one with some PVC fittings and pipe very cheaply.

what is your application?

The cabin is about seven feet above the creek. How many pounds per inch/foot would be needed to get that high I'm not sure. As of right now we have a 300 gallon IBC tank for the essential's but the gas pump is something I would like to get away from considering it seams cheap enough to replace.

7 feet is not much. Don't worry about that amount of head pressure. You can keep the IBC tank full easily with the ram pump.
