Remember when you guys said that ram can't be lose from the inside. when I go to start menu> my computer> properties it said it has 992mb of ram when it suppose to have 1024 MB of ram. does anyone knows whats going wrong?

Your memory is being allocated to probably your video card. This usually happens if you have onboard video IIRC.

What type of computer do you have? Is it one pre-built by Compaq, HP, Dell, etc.?

IIRC = if I remember correctly

Do you have a video card that you installed such as a Geforce 6800 or whatever?

theres your problem. its sharing some memory with main ram, because the onboard doesnt really have 256 of physical memory
