i have a toshiba a45 s151 with 512 meg of ddr ram at pc 2700

i ordered 2 gb pc2-4200 sodimm ram why do they not fit and how do i know what will fit

and if there are any recomendations on what ram to get that would be helpful
 
You can't mix DDR2 RAM with DDR1 RAM slots. The laptop you have takes DDR1 PC2700 RAM so you need to order DDR1 PC2700 RAM.
 
the hard part is finding out what ram you need, you did that just fine. why did you order the wrong ram then?
