I have this corsair xms pc3200c2 stick of 512 that wouldn't boot up on an abit kv8 max3...
I rma'd the ram and got a new stick..same problem
Now I bought an asus k8n hoping that maybe the nforce 3 chipset would be better than the via...but the ram wouldn't boot up..

the only time I could get the ram to boot up was with a mix of some pc2700 but the computer would freeze after 2 minutes of being running...and i would get a graphics card microsoft error. I've tried every ram slot...with different combinations

I believe the ram is double-sided

specs:
amd 64 3000+
abit kv8 max 3 (via) - asus k8n (nforce)
ati 9800pro
wd 120gb/160gb

Could you boot up with just the pc2700 and go into BIOS and set the voltage and timings manually. Corsair sometimes requires higer voltage (2.7 or greater) to operate properly. Once you've made the BIOS changes, shut down and try inserting the corsair and see what happens.
