RAM problem with my ABIT AV8

Hi ,

Can someone tell me if theres anything i can do about this .

I currently have 4 RAM modules for my main system :-

2 x 256mb GeIL PC4000
2 x 256mb GeIL PC3200

The Abit AV8 motherboard has 4 Dimm slots , When I use the 4 dimm slots I cant run the RAM at 1T only 2T , but when i use only 2 Dimm slots [ dual channel ] I CAN run the RAM at 1T .

Now with all 4 RAM modules total 1 Gb RAM @ 2T i get a SiSoft Score of 5321 MB/s

And with 2 RAM modules total 512 Mb @ 1T i get a SiSoft score of 6288 MB/s

I cant run 3 at all ? the board wont boot with 3 dimms taken up no matter what settings , even from a CMOS clearing the board dosent boot with 3 RAM modules inserted .

I had the 2 PC3200 and i just bought the 2 PC4000 modules for this system .

Is this normal for all boards ? or is it just my board , or my settings ?
