Ram Prices?

it was more like prices returned to normal prices than shot up....

serveral reasons... basic supply/demand economics, holidays... memory companies were probably not making any profits at all durring last years all time low prices... Now that they have everyones attention and demand has increased, so do the prices. Its just the way the market works.

Yeah, i agree. While you might thinnnk that the prices have risen.. they have, but the prices once dropped to a rediculous low. Companies lost moeny and so this is why they prices have "re-leveled". The prices have almost doubled since its lowet point.

The dram chip manufacturers were selling the chips for way under the cost it took to manufacture them, so they were losing money. they are still selling them under cost, just not as far undercost. either way they should keep going up til the companies make money off it again.

Hynix the 3rd largest chip manufacture raised chips prices 30% because they were losing money and almost went bankrupt and since WinXP came out more people are buying PCs. Micron (2nd largest) said that they will try not to raise their prices, and Samsung (1st Largest) said that they might raise prices also.
