Ram prices to meet quad core

How will the fsb speeds work with quad core? Will the be quad pumped? Or will we be seeing alot of higher speed ddr2 shortly? I wonder how fast this will make current ram drop. Considering the only ram that is guaranteed to hit quad core speeds (Assuming its not quad pumped) is around $600. Thats going to be an expensive setup :(

Where is everyone getting their information now? Places I used to go to are full of ads or useless garbage. Maybe everything is now :(

no
Intel already has a quad pumped FSB (266MHZx4= 1066mhz)
the four cores sit on one ceramic chip nd still share the same quad pumped FSB
(in a similar fashion that all 4 drains in my house flow out one big pipe to the street)

DDR2 is still fairly stuck at 1000MHZ
1000Mhz DDR2 in Dual Channel becomes 2x1000mhz

until Intel bumps the FSB up a hell lot you wont see
chipsets offering Quad Channel DDR2 setups

i could imagine that DDR2 800 will drop by 30-40% next year but only the midrange variety

life Quad Core will have and already have no effect on the activity of the RAM and FSB it remains the same

Hense why it works inthe Mobos as Single and Dual core

When you mention
"Quad Pumped" what are yopu referring to?
i'm not sure you have have the right term

sorry your still off track

Techniques
Dual Channel 2 sticks to double total Throughput
Doesn't yet exist but hypothetically Quad Channel = 4 sticks of RAM to boast 4x the bandwidth of a single stick

Technologies
Double Data Rate Rising and Falling signals allow double total throughput without increasing number of cycles.(Mhz)

Quad Pumped is a trademarked term it is used to link the Northbridge Chipset to Intel Pentium 4 D Mobile and Core2 processors.
to allow four signals to be interperated
allowing four times total throughput without increasing number of cycles(Mhz)

Quad Pumped is completely different than Dual Channel. first links to CPU the Northbridge second links Northbridge to RAM

I wasn't talking specifically about dual channel. That being said quad pumped is x4 double is x2. Don't understand what the problem is with that o_o

Quad Pumped otherwise know as Quad Data Rate is an extension of Double Data Rate
aka you DDR Ram it doesnt involve 2 or 4 of anything.

Dual Channel and Quad Channel require four different devices to achieve the 2x or 4x boost
Be it 2 or 4 sticks of RAM
or 2 or 4 Harddrives in Raid-0
