I was looking at some TwinMOS RAM a few days ago (3 I think) and I had limited funds, £50.44, and I needed £50.61 or something :(

So I go back today when I have a bit more money, and the RAM has dropped from £44.90 (excl shipping) to £38.02

Is this the begin of the drop in prices, or an isolated thing? Most of the generic and TwinMOS prices seem to have also gone down on the site, not sure about the major players (Crucial, Kingston etc).

This was for a 256MB stick of PC2700 CAS 2 TwinMOS

the 1st quarter is usually when memory prices are down because it's after the christmas shopping season

Just wait and hold your money.

The price will go down further in the next few days because of Chinese new year.

All those computer components shops in China are closed until Feb 10.

twinmos, from everything i've read, is excellent memory. The 3200 cl2.5 uses the same winbond 5ns chips that the corsair 3500cl2 stuff does. and people get the same results from it too. I ordered 2 sticks for 76 a piece, they should be here within the week.

I have some TwinMOS PC2700 in my KG7. Have taken it to 160MHz in this very picky board. Crucial PC2100 wouldn't run with stability at STOCK speed!

heh.

As for DRAM prices, they seem to be back on their downward pace (for DDR, the market leader). I'm very surprised SDRAM hasn't started going up in price yet; I underestimated the amount of manufacturers (Dell, cheapy local "deal" systems, etc) that still use SDRAM in new systems.
