RAM preference with motherboards

Just wondering, it seems like everyone seems to like going with 2 sticks of 2100 CL2 256Mb RAM for their motherboards. Any reason why nobody seems to use the Mushkin 512 Mb 2.5-3-3 Ram? I know its latency is a bit higher, but have there been stories of Mushkin being inferior quality? I'd like to max my board out to 1.5Gb (Epox 8kha+), and crucial doesn't seem to sell the 512Mb modules. Thanks all.

I like Crucial or Corsair. I don't know, Mushkin's offerings fail to thrill me. Well, insofar as someone can be thrilled by RAM.
