RAM Placement on mobo

I'm putting together a system with a 1.6Ghz Duron w/ ECS K7VTA3 mobo from Fry's. I ordered the SVC GC69 to use on this rig and ran into a problem when I was putting in the RAM. The clip from the GC69 blocks for the first DIMM slot and I was wondering if it's possible to run with an empty DIMM1 and an occupied DIMM2.

If not, I'll have to bend the clip away from the first DIMM.

Go for it, it should not be a problem. edited: running the ram in another slot
