RAM pins

[crazychicken]

i saw on a website that DIMMs could come in 144, 168, 200, and 184 pins. Do some motherboards need these crazy pins? I know my DIMMs are 168 pin. Are they completely different, totally compatable? What is the deal?

ddr come on 184 pin models
144 is the so dimms used in latops.
and 200 is something else. maybe special printer memory or something.
