RAM or Motherboard problem?

Hi, i was testing out my motherboard (abit nf7 v2) and i only have one ram slot (although there are three). My problem is that the ram only works when its in one slot and the system wont boot if i put it in the other 2.
Does this mean my motherboard is faulty, or is this supposed to happen?

Cheers

Check the manual, it might be that you have to use slot A if you've only got one stick, A and B if you've got two and ABC if three and that trying to use C only will not function.
