RAM or CPU limitations when overclocking?

Is there anyway I can test if it is my RAM or CPU that prevents me from going higher?
I have 1600+ with 512 mb of crucial pc 2100 and overclocked it to 157 FSB. Any suggestion?

Ummmm... you could trade RAM with me and see if that's it =) I have a 1700+ that's currently running at 1530 and that's as high as it will go... 139 FSB... I have 512 mb of DDR... 2 DIMMs, $40 each at Best Buy (cheap ram) I'm thinking it is the RAM because almost everyone I know can get higher than that.

Unless not done already:
Leave the minimum of ram sticks in your pc
set all delay times ras/cas etc. as high as possible
then see if you can crank up the CPU more... 😀

And make sure your fsb/mem bus ratio is at it's lowest, like 1:1. All that will pretty much bring your memory out of the picture and you can see how high your cpu will go.
HTH 🙂
