RAM OC dependent on Order?!

I have two sticks of Corsair Value Select PC2700 512MB. One is slightly taller than the other. They both have copper heatspreaders. We will call the shorter one M1 and the other M2.

Max OC when M1 is in bank1 M2 is in bank2 -- 170MHz @ stock timings.

Max OC when M2 is in bank1 M1 is in bank2 -- 195MHz @ 2.8V @ 2-2-3-3

Any Idea as to why this occurs?

I've heard that placement of the RAM can make a difference, but I'm really suprised the difference is 30Mhz in your case.

What board is this on?
