ram not stable on stock voltages

My ram seems not to be really stable as i cannot run normaly orthos test
at stock speeds, so naturally, i cannot overclock to be my pc stable...

i use kind of cheap one 500w qtek psu and no ups, what should i do next?
immediately buy new psu, o first buy ups, maybe ups would help?

btw, what psu would you suggest?

i run core2 duo e6600 with x1800xt 512...

maybe ur motherboard is not stable for overclocking.

oh, i forgot, i have asus p5b deluxe wifi m/b which seems to be a good overclocker...

i don't know what RAM you have, but if you've got 2+ modules, try running them one at a time. i found out with my RAM that 1 module would run fine at stock settings (and above), but the other would be extremely unstable anywhere near stock settings, so I'm going to have to RMA them...

Corsair XMS likes 2.75~2.8V

I do not know about underclocked but at stock settings, XMS wants 2.7~2.8V.
A highly respected member of this board recommends that and I do it.

well, seems like i really had to get a good psu long time ago... i bought today coolermaster igreen power 600w and seems to be stable now at stock speeds 😀 i would have never thought about that... always was thinking what's the fu... difference, all of them 500-600w, just ones costing 150$, others 40... why pay more.. stupid me...

I think that is for DDR1, this is DDR2. DDR2 starts at ?1.8V?, so 2.7V sounds way too high. That said, it is common for the highest speed / lowest latency ram to require a little boost in voltage from the stock setting to get the max speed.
