RAM NOT REGISTERING

Senior member
I put a stick of 128 ram into a Dell P2 200mhz.
When I boot the computer it only registers 32ram.
I dont know the exact specs on the comp.

Anyone knows whats up?

Just a thought...maybe an outdated BIOS...back then 128 stick was huge and quite possibly the BIOS won't recognize it. Also if your unlucky, its the chipset that won't see it, and if its the latter your screwed...

Most older motherboards will not recognise ram at 128 unless it's the correct speed, you need to see if your motherboard supports it.
I just worked on a Gateway with the same problem.
I had to use pc 66 or it won't recognise it correctly.
Look for a Bios update.
Ram is suppose to be backword compatible and is, but pc 66 ram motherboards will not and cannot recognise pc 100 and pc 133 ram.
