RAM not reading as correct size

Ok, this is a question for some older hardware that I've set up as a dual boot Win 98/Slackware box. When I got the K6-III 450 system, it only had 64MB of RAM. There was a huge sale on this week, and I was able to pick up 128MB of PC133 for $9.99 Can

When I installed it in the PC, it only reads as 64MB, even though it is a 128MB stick. I removed the old 64, same thing. I tried all three RAM slots, same thing. Exchanged my RAM for a new stick, same thing

The system is a K6-III 450 running at stock speeds
Aopen AX59pro motherboard, Via MVP3 chipset 2MB L3 Cache
GeForce 2 MX
15GB Maxtor
etc

The RAM I got is a single sided, 32MBx4 stick. I think that's the problem. From some research on the net I've heard of high density and low density ram, and high density only works on newer motherboards. I have never heard of this, but I haven't used PC100-133 for a long long time. Can someone confirm this? If so I'll try to exchange it for a low density stick if they have any in stock.

Thanks

Edit-I forgot to mention I flashed the bios to the latest version as well

Your new ram isn't compatible with your old ram. Most likely your board requires double-density ram, but what you bought were high-density ram (chips on only one side).
