Hey, with a computer im working I already have one stick of pc100 sd 64mb of ram, I have added a stick of pc133 256mb sd of ram, but when I boot up the computer is only reconizing the 64mb stick. Can anyone please help me.

thanks

System specs?

There are a number of older chipsets which cannot handle RAM of high density (which is what most modern RAM is today). In particular, there were a few chipsets that could have only a maximum of 256MB of RAM, ie 440ZX and 440EX chipsets.

woa i just noticed in that link that the max ram is 256....Yup this makes sence....But if you could confirm this that would be great...thanks

dam, ok, not this is annoyign....I put the 256 in by it's self and it don't work,,,ahhh....It just makes a rithmatic system beep when i boot up...

I think it maybe be because it needs two 128mb sticks, and it cant support a bigger stick.

am i correct?

Often a BIOS update will recognize more types of modules--I have had several Compaqs and PBs that I had to do that. Just update the BIOS and see if that module doesn't work.

Edit: Yup, web site said 256MB (2x128MB modules!!).bh.
And there is a BIOS update from Jan of this year here: 6630 BIOS Update

FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!!! .BH.
