RAM - Neo 2 Plat

Since BF2 is causing me some hitching in some of my games, i'm thinking of adding an additional 1 GB of RAM to my machine. Right now i've got 2x512MB OCZ Plat 2 in banks 1. Instead of buying another Gig of the OCZ I was thinking of throwing in some RAM from my old PC that i'm not currently running. I believe i've got 1 GB of PC2700 Value RAM (Samsung). I'm curious if I put the PC2700 in the 2nd RAM bank if all sticks will run at PC2700 or if the speeds are independent per bank. Any thoughts?

Yes, all RAM will run at the slowest speed.

What are the rest of your system specs, I would not put in 2700 ram in there just to slow everything else down!
