RAM limit in OS?

I just read an article over on HardCoreWare.net that mentioned something about 512Mb RAM was max for Win 98/ME. Did I read this right and there is a limit, or am I just totally wrong? I didn't think there was much of a limit to how much RAM the OS could theoretically use.

On a side note, I was looking at upgrading my RAM. I currently have 128Mb PC133. Will another 128Mb make that much difference, i.e. is it worth the price (low as it is, I'm on a budget) for what performance I may get out of it?

Thanks a lot all...

pff the limit is 4gb of ram in me as far as I know, I have 512, but there isn't much difference between 256 and 512, I'd suggest with the current prices of ram that you go to 256, you will notice a little difference, I went to 512 as I do a lot of video intensive editing and graphics editing.

The theoretical addressable limit is 4GB in all 32-bit Microsoft OSes, apart from Win2K AS and Win2K DC.

Microsoft has limited Win9x to using 2GB of RAM as a maximum, but due to a caching problem, can only use 512MB before some changes need to be made to system.ini to use more.

Ah alright, thanks to both of you for answering my questions.. I thought that if there was a limit, it would be way higher than just 512Mb. Also thanks for the upgrade advice.. as cheap as PC133 is right now I'd hate to pass up a bargain if it's worth it. Thanks a lot!
