RAM issues

I have the option of buying 7.5ns pc133 RAM with or without this thing called Serial Port Detection. The one with SPD is 8ns, but is a little bit more.

Basicaly, I am confused as what to buy: I have a KT-7 RAID and am upgrading from pc-100 to pc-133. Here are my options:

Micron 256 MB 16x64 7.5ns PC133 8NS with SPD - Serial Port Detection - 99.99

Micron 256 MB 16*72 / 16*8 3.3volts PC133 7.5NS with ECC- Error Correcting Code - 110.00

Micron 256 MB 16*72 / 16*8 7.5Volts PC133 8NS with ECC- Error Correcting Code and SPD - Serial Port Detection - 126.99

Micron 256MB PC133, 7.5NS 168PIN 32MB x 64, Part # MT48LC168A2TC-75C UNBUFFERED Gold leads,6 layer board 168pin 3.3 volt - 86.00

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Oh dear.

SPD stands for SERIAL PRESENCE DETECT. SPD usually means that there is a small EEPROM chip on the DIMM to give relevant timing information to the motherboard so that it can automatically configure itself. As part of the PC100 and PC133 specification, all DIMMs have an SPD onboard.

Unless you are going to build a server, you will not need ECC SDRAM.

That leaves you with the first and last choice. Since the first choice gives some conflicting information regarding the NS rating, and the last choice's specs don't look quite right to me, that doesn't leave me much room to move. If anything, the first option looks best, as long as you can clarify that it is 7.5ns and not 8ns.
