RAM issues

I recently purchased a new computer game (EQ II), unfortunately after installing the whole thing, I find out that although I have the required 512mb of RAM installed, the system only says that I have 504. Is there anyway to fix this? I have even thought about overclocking the RAM, but with a standard Hp motherboard, I dont think thats really possible. I would really hate to have wasted my money on this game, so any help would be great.

You sure your system doesn't have onboard video and you're just not using it? Even if it's disabled it will use some of the main memory for video memory.

Go into the bios setup when the machine first starts, usually by pressing F1 or F2 or something similar. Find the onboard video and disable it if possible. It seems like its using 8mb of your memory.
