ram is posting 120mb

I have some pc-100 ram (128mb) posting as 120mb.Would this indicate defective ram?Not having any problems,but it is not being identified as 128mb only 120mb..................
 
You probably have motherboard shared memory graphics. If you've put in a real video card you might still need to go into the BIOS and disable the onboard video.
 
128MB - 8MB for shared video = 120MB. 😛

Also consider decimal vs binary math - there could be more memory allocated to video. But you get the idea.
