RAM is just wasting away

A short while ago it was all about freeing up RAM, avoiding resource hogs, etc. Now that we can get the most common types of RAM for a song I'd like to hear suggestions on actually putting more of it to use. The price/capacity tables have turned, this now seems like a good way to reduce hard drive access, speed up responsiveness, etc.
