RAM is 512MB, but reads as 448MB

Hi Everyone

I have an eMachines T3256 pre-installed with a stick of Samsung PC2700 512MB RAM. Basically, when I look under "Properties" of "My Computer" in the Start menu, the RAM is listed as 448MB instead of the 512. I was wondering if this is normal or if there is something I need to be concerned about. Thanks!

The other 64MB is being used as video memory for the onboard video. It's there, just not available for Windows to use in the usual way. If you upgrade to a plug-in AGP card sometime, it will be available to Windows automatically.

I was tempted to say it was due to taxes, but restrained myself
