I was installing some ram i just bought and installed it. When i booted the comp up it said "Windows Protection Error." I tried it out with only the new ram in it same thing. This doesn't happen when I take the new Ram out.
By the way i for each of the cases the new ram IS showing up in the registry. . .What am i forgetting or is this bad ram.

Sounds like either bad ram, the wrong type ( ecc vs non-ecc), or you have a comp that wants a particular stick, not a generic stick of ram...

It helps to say what motherboard you have, what kind of ram you have, etc. Now, I'm confused you say the ram IS showing up in the registry, but it also says "Windows Protection Error." How did you get into the registry without booting to Windows? Did you mean the bios? It may be slow ram and settings in the bios may be too fast for it. Lowering the ram timings may be all that is needed to fix your problem.
