RAM install help!

I started with 1gb of RAM(4 256 mb sticks, 2 pc3200, 2pc2100). I took out both of the pc2100 sticks and put in 1 512mb pc3200 stick. The problem I am having is that the bios won't read all three stick at once, just two, or one sometimes. I've tried different configurations and none have worked. This is what I'm working with.

Phoenix - Award BIOS v6.00pg
512mb ddr pc3200 kingston valueram
2x256 sticks of some generic ddr RAM out of a compaq computer

Can anyone help?

Oops, I forgot to change my profile...

... it's actually a generic compaq mobo, of what model I have no idea. But, like I said earlier, it is running on the Phoenix BIOS.
