About to bulid a new sytem for gaming and photo/video editing. I have asked a couple of questions about it with much help and there is just one more thing. The motherboard is GA-K8NXP-SLI.

The Ram. I keep wanting to order corsair 4x512mb. I guess this is stupid because I could get better performance with 2x512 from what I have read.

So can anyone explain why the performance of 2 dimms is better then 4? I know you have to switch to T2 timing but i dont know what that means. In addition which should I get? I guess 2x512 is better but I keep wanting the 4x512 it sounds better. 🙂

Try the Search function please. Things have been discussed and thoroughly explained many times over.

1GB of DDR-SDRAM is what you want for gaming. In fact, Doom 3 recommends you have 2GB of DDR-SDRAM. 2GB or more is good for productivity programs like 3D Studio Max and Photoshop which will need and will use above 1GB. As for the '1T' try to keep it at 1 if possible by raising your DDR-SDRAM voltage.🙂
