I have 1024MB of pc3200 in my system and i'm adding another gig. I have 512mb of Geil and 512Mb of Kingston. My question is does it matter if the brands are different? Is there any performance difference by having all RAM made by the same company, or is it alright performance wise to mix-and-match?
 
I think it would matter if your Cas Latencies didn't match. MY guess is if you were to get another brand, make sure the latencies are equal or not too far apart as RAM defaults to the slowest speeds
ie(2 sticks of 2.5, 1 stick of 3 would make all 3 goto 3)
