Okay so this is the PC i'm building

AMD X2 5000+ CPU w/ Asus MVP whatever board thats coming out

straight up, what ram will I need to buy? All I know is that it's DDR2 and I want 2-4gb

whats the best bang for your buck stuff out there? anything else I should know so I dont buy the wrong type? (PC2 ####?)

I know Jack but, he does'n't know Elvis.

Do you plan to OC? If not PC2 400 will work fine. I'm partial to Corsair.

If you plan on OCing, decide how much you want to spend and spend it. 😉

The "standard" is to go with the major manufs. like Corsair, OCZ, Mushkin, Kingston. Many other folk have had success with others. There IS no guaranteed setup. Going with ram reccomended by the MB manuf. is always a good idea. OCing is a combination of quality stable parts, knowledge and, luck of the draw.

Once you decide on your MB, you can read reviews of what memory has worked well for others. You just have to realize that YMMV.
