Dang, I thought I ordered the correct memory for this board, but now I'm not sure!! I contacted Crucial and they said that the board needs ECC memory not non-ECC...Can anyone help me out here? If this won't work I'll have to pull that from my NE order....Thanks!!!

Here's the link for the board on MSI's website.

It does mention EEC memory on the max chart, but they're not pushing it or bringing attention to it in bold letters. Hard to believe they'd _require_ EEC on the board since no one else does?

Newegg doesn't mention ECC on the MSI product page either. I doubt very much they'd require ECC on the board because of the screams they'd hear from customers who received unpleasant surprises on bootup. Although...just _maybe_ MSI is referring to ECC w/regard to 4GB of RAM only?

Well i downloaded the pdf file manual and it doesnt say anything
about ecc ram in there so i guess your alright Ytseflyer.

I did some more research on the MSI website; this ram should be fine. They've tested and approved the Corsair ram and it's non-ECC; ~ specs as well.

Have to wait until tomorrow anyway; got the MB and CPU...but the ram and vidcard were delayed.

Thanks for all the responses; I'll let you know how it works out.

Cheers,

This motherboard does NOT need ECC Ram, I have non-ECC unbuffered Crucial Ram in this exact motherboard at it's up and running like a champ. BTW this motherboard rocks!
