Ram Heatsinks a Necessity?

So I'm in my ongoing quest to quiet my system even further, I'm looking at using this cooler here:

It seems Arctic cooling uses some absurd glue to install the ram sinks that don't even stick for a lot of people. I guess my point is, do I even need ram sinks? The last 3-4 gpu's I've taken apart to apply Arctic Silver didn't even have any cooling for the ram sinks (660 ti, 7850 and multiple 7870s).
