Ram Heatsink

I'm going to buy a 2 Gb ram. Is it important that memories have a heatsink or not? and can I buy two 1 Gb ram and using it as a dual mode?

It's best to buy 2x 1GB sticks to run in dual mode and no, you don't need HS if you have good airflow in your case.
