ram heatsink(need to make sure i won't fry my card)

i want to put a heatsink on the 4 ram chips on my Asus V7100 Pure(GF2 MX) but i want to make sure i'm not going to fry anything. i am using an old pentium heatsink which i'm going to cut to size. to anyone who has this card/has done this: is there any danger in using one large heatsink to cover the 4 chips, or are there components between them which i have to be wary of and should cut the heatsink into 2 strips?
