Ram heat spreaders necessary?

I'm in the process of buying some new stuff for my box (zalman CNPS7000, 2 Zalman 80mm casefans, new liteon CDRW drive, Audigy 2). But I was just looking at a ram heat spreader. I'm running a p4 2.66 that is not over clocked with 512mb ram and I don't even know if I need it. Does anyone think I do?

personally, i dont feel they are absolutely necessary, but if the ram comes with it, thats great too :) they're supposed to cool the ram a little, thus resulting in a few more mhz in overclocking, but i dont know if thats true.. copper ones are probably the best though. hope that helps ^__^

On DDR RAM they're almost exclusively for looks. On Rambus RAM thay actually work.
