RAM getting so damn cheap

So im looking at ZipZoomFly cause im building a PC for a friend and i look up the Corsiar Value Select (2x512) 1GB CAS2.5 for the RAM... When i bought that same RAM in December, a gig of it was $154 or so and now its like $84 for a gig.... i guess I should take this opportunity 😉 cause i think i need 2 gigs now, for games like BF2

Value Select is quality... You dont need "SUPER ULTRA X-TREME TO THE MAX HOURSE POWER LOW LATENCY MEGATRON RAM" 😉

My RAM is beastly enough
 
Value RAM is good if you don't wanna OC.

but you can't replace the "SUPER ULTRA X-TREME TO THE MAX HOURSE POWER LOW LATENCY MEGATRON RAM" if you're lookin to squeeze every last bit of power out of your system.

It's preference really. I just wish the OCZ Value VX will hurry and drop in price so I can buy another GB.
 
If you've got a Rev. E core, the only penalty is 1T-2T.

You've gotta be a really benchmarking whore to care about that. Although I do admit, 1T sounds better than 2T
 
What we need now from amd is a chip that will run 2gb without penalty and still give a good oc.

Dont u just buy 2x 1 gig ram, im sure u can overclock it easy and get 1T. Its only if u use 4x512 (fill all the dimms) then u have to run 2T?
 
is the Kingston Value RAM comparable to the Corsair VR? How is it comparable to other brands? I always see it at BB or CC for like $150 for one 512 stick and wonder why anyone would ever buy it. Of course, I did spring for 2 sticks for $18 AR each at CC last week.

No 2x1gb will oc very poorly. 4x512 may actually get you better results. Ram will oc much better with only a gig. There are not many uses for 2gb atm.
