RAM getting more expensive?

Just wondering what was happening with RAM prices as they seem to have gone up recently - Crucial 2GB DDR has gone up about 10% (£125 to £138).

What's likely to happen with future RAM prices - are they likely to go up more?

Just wondering for several reasons:
- Manufacturers shift to DDR2 so DDR goes up now (perhaps until AM2 comes out and is mainstream)
- Seasonal upward trend

(edited - probably wasn't best to have accidentally entered my username and password as the title and topic summary. I'm an idiot ;p)

RAM prices fluctuate all the time but AFAIK they are pretty low right now.

Old stock is getting cheaper, new stock is more expensive. Companies like Samsung are that produce the ram chips are focusing on flash memory since it's much more profitable.

I'll see if I can find the article, I know someone posted it here a while ago.

i don't know, i guess flash drives making more does kinda make some sense but even those are getting really cheap. i remember just a few weeks ago that value ram was in the low $150's but now it's in the low $140's so to me it's getting cheaper

Prices on DDR have gone up because I think they're trying to get rid of it and focus on ddr2...and since there aren't as many ddr sticks around, prices go up.
