I currently have a 650 Athlon and am using Mushkin RAM which works fine. I'm now looking to build a 1gigahertz system for a customer who is much more budget minded than me. I'm thinking of using generic 133Mhz RAM. Should I experience in problems with this type of RAM or was this a thing with past Athlons? I don't plan on overclocking.

Generic PC133 should be fine if you don't plan on overclocking. You may want to at least get CAS2 generic stuff though, it gives a nice performance boost over regular CAS3, even when not overclocking.

Generic Ram is fine. If you find cas2 stuff then that will be better. Cas3 is fine for the system though.
