Ram for nForce 2?

anomaly

I was thinking of getting 2x256mb Geil PC3500 Ultra Platinum, but is it over kill? Im going to be using a Epox 8RDA+, XP2100+ OR a XP1700+ (shouldn't make much of a difference as I can adjust multipliers). I am going for the biggest OC I can. Considering I can get a real good deal, 160shipped for the 2 sticks, should I do it? Or would PC2700 be enough for my ocin'g needs?

I would go for XMS 3200. $87 a 256 stick (I know, expensive), much more reliable. Geil is ok, but my problem with it is that it is pre-oced RAM, you even have to set minimum voltage on it to 2.8 for it to run at stock! I mean, 2.5 is normal for most RAMs, and the max XMS will warranty out to is 2.8, because it hurts longevity past there. So my vote is the XMS, thats what I'm probably getting soon, as well. and NO to the 2700, then your RAM will be the limit past 166, esp at low timings.

after reading a few reviews, I'd recommend the HyperX 3500 module. 89$ for a 256 stick, 169$ for 512.

I'm running 2 x 256 Corsair XMS 3200 with an 8RDA+. 6-3-3-2. Runs 205 fsb (highest I have tried so far). Seems like a nice combination to me.
