Ram for a dell 9300

I finally got my 9300 and want to upgrade the ram on it. I am a laptop newbie so can someone tell me what kind of ram i need to look for. I want to upgrade to 1 or 2 GB but im not sure what speeds or type i need to look for.

currently i have 512 which it came with..should i get another 512 or just one 1 gb stick.. i think it can take two sticks of ram at a time.

You will not be able to just get another stick of 512 to make 1 gig..reason being that the 512 in your system is 2x256.
