Hey guys, my amigo is setting up an amd Athlon XP 2800+ Barton and ASUS nForce2 Ultra 400 Model "A7N8X" , and he wants 1 gig of ram. He doesnt want to overclock but he will game ALOT. What ram would you advise he gets?
I told him to get two sticks of Corsair xtreme pc3700 512mbs. what do you think?

That memory is fine. I try to stick to Corsair, Kingston, Mushkin or OCZ. As long as it's PC3200 you are set to go.

If he's not overclocking, PC3700 is overkill. Even PC3200 will be overkill if he's not overclocking at all... the RAM at non-overclocked speeds will only be running at PC2700.

But since there is little difference in PC2700 and PC3200 prices, just get PC3200.
