Ram Fault?

Hi this is my first post so go easy I have had 1.5GB (1GB 500MB) for a wile now and its worked.
But then my pc stopped booting and I tried different combinations of ram and if I kept the 1GB out it works.
I did a ram test on another pc with it and the 1GB ram isn?t faulty and I tried the 500mb ram in both of my ram slots and it worked.
There both the same type and the max my motherboard supports is 2GB so I can?t see watts wrong.
My pc spec is:
Pentium D 2.8GHz
533MHz DDR2 ram 500MB?
160GB Seagate SATA
windows xp pro
geforce 7300gs 256MB
foxconn 945GZ7MC-KS2H
award bios v6.00PG
any help would be much appreciated
thanks 🙂

Welcome to anandtech. If there's nothing wrong with your 2x512 MB sticks, put them back in, in the same slots that your 2x256 MB sticks are in. You'd be much better off with 1 GB of RAM than with 512 MB. And, if I had to venture a guess, it would be that there's now something wrong with your motherboard, especially since it's a Foxconn.
