Windows XP is very touchy when it comes to Generic RAM that has any compatibility issues. Some motherboards like Asus also have some compatiblity issues when it comes to RAM. Most motherboard manufacturers are pushing the clock rates and the power settings just a little higher to try to get the best performance on review sites. Because of this the RAM has to be 100% compatible and 100% stable. Any variations and your system will crash or restart.
